Forte: One of Walter P Moore’s “returning” faces, Lurita has an architectural background and a Master’s of Science in Historic Preservation with a concentration in building materials conservation. She has been practicing as a building enclosure consultant for the last ten years, focusing on preservation and performance of historic façades and roofing & waterproofing consulting. Her high-profile projects have included masonry restoration at two state capitols, work at seven National Historic Landmarks, and façade restoration projects for dozens of National Register and National Register-eligible properties.
2nd career choice: “Electrician. The first thing I ever wanted to do “when I grew up” was to be an electrician. Obviously, I had no idea what that meant when I was four, but now — I think I would have made a great electrician. I guess it can be always be Plan B.”
Best advice she’s received: From a high school teacher, "Always have a plan. It doesn’t have to be a good plan or the right plan. Just have a plan that keeps you moving forward — you can always adjust course along the way.”

Forte: 10 years in the biz (primarily architectural), Candy has worked on high-end, large-scale commercial projects, excelling at 3D modeling and detailing. One of several people at Walter P Moore with an architectural background, she joins our Houston Parking group as a planner and designer, and is well-versed in digital workflow.
Little-known tidbit: Candy was a research assistant at the Sasakawa International Center for Space Architecture — a research, design, and teaching academic center that supports the world's only MS degree in Space Architecture — and presented at the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics 2006 Conference on her research and design work done on a greenhouse for a surface habitat.

Specializing in creative design solutions and innovation, he’s spent his professional career designing a range of building types, including high-rise condos and apartments, senior living facilities, maintenance facilities, emergency operations centers, civic city centers, hotels, and garages.
Extracurricular Alex: “I have a home workshop full of tools and a forge where I like to spend time making more tools, furniture, metal-works, replicas of historical objects and historical processes, and other time-sinks that interest me.”
Little-known tidbit: “I also tend to autocross my cars for the duration of the first year that I have them.”

Forte: Liam began his professional career in the gaming and film industries, making 3D graphics for projection mapping shows and later transitioning to video game technology. A previous Walter P Moore intern and another of our “returning” faces, he now creates virtual reality experiences that provide new and innovative ways to collaborate with stakeholders. Using cutting-edge technology and wearing many hats, Liam is able to show clients and colleagues what it feels like to be in a project before the building is underway.

On what inspired her career in HR: “I started out wanting to be a lawyer. My college advisor said I’d make a great HR person. My response was — what is HR? She got me an internship in HR, and the rest is history.”

Forte: Over this first decade of his engineering career, Nicholas has worked on projects ranging from a small pro-bono renovation to a billion dollar hospital, including art museums, schools, and a stadium seismic retrofit along the way. A constant learner and listener, Nicholas marries the creative language of designers with the pragmatic language of engineers and craftsmen to deliver unique design solutions that are practical to construct.
Extracurricular Nicholas: “Exploring good books or good hikes with my wife and kids, or planning a new creative project at home that will probably take too long and cost too much (scope always creeps!)”
On what inspired him to become a structural engineer: “I was building a coffee table and realized that I had no idea how to determine if it could support someone standing on it to change a lightbulb. I knew then that I needed to be a structural engineer if I wanted to be a great carpenter.”
