In Six: Feeding my whole brain, most days.
Roots / Alma Maters: Pittsburgh, PA / Carnegie-Mellon University
Forte: A registered architect in California and Pennsylvania, Lori has 20+ years of experience working in the U.S. and Japan for traditional architecture firms as well as a specialty structure and façade design-build firm. Before specializing in façades and specialty structures, she worked on a variety of building types including airports, convention centers, and mixed-use developments in Asia. During her time as a technical designer in Marina del Rey, she delved into much greater detail than typical of most architecture firms, and it was then that she discovered her passion and developed her expertise in façade and specialty design.
Extracurricular Lori: “I grab every chance I get to travel internationally and have been lucky to live in both Tokyo and Hong Kong. Back here in LA, most weekends are a flurry of kid-related activity, family hiking, and seeking out great new restaurants in Koreatown, Little Tokyo, or any of the other great LA neighborhoods.”
Little-known tidbit: “I had the pleasure of working on the restorations of two Frank Lloyd Wright houses in Western Pennsylvania early in my career: Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob. It was wonderful to spend hours in both houses unhurried and alone to get a sense of what it was like to live there.”
