What has been the most interesting work you’ve done here so far?
Modeling the interaction between large transfer girders and the columns that support them for a stadium expansion project allowed me the chance to “go beyond the code.” This set the tone for high performance expectations that come with Walter P Moore projects.

How does engineering make a difference in the world?
Engineers are charged with meeting the world’s constantly evolving challenges: building taller to accommodate increasingly crowded cities, building “green” to help sustain an environment, or designing for high-performance in a seismic region, while always striving for economic feasibility and client satisfaction. Our creative solutions make a difference in solving these once-impossible challenges.

What inspired you to go into engineering?
Initially, an interest in architecture led me to structural engineering. As I studied beautiful spaces and structures as an architecture undergraduate, I became drawn to the way they worked.
