Leadership and Skills Development Program

overview
We have a reputation at Walter P Moore that’s made us a leader in our field: Our engineering works. Of course, leadership and good engineering are a function of the people doing the work.

We look for skills and leadership potential whenever we bring someone into the company. And we help build their potential, in part, through our Leadership & Skills Development Program (LSDP).

The program is ambitious and open to all, although it is not mandatory. It provides a framework for excelling in all aspects of the business of engineering: organizational management; marketing and business development; human resource development; personal development; and, of course, technical expertise. It helps management discover the company’s future leaders and round out everyone’s potential to the fullest.

the ‘what’ of lsdp
Walter P Moore has carefully identified the capabilities, processes, work ethic, and personal commitment needed to maintain our leadership in a world of endless, and sometimes unexpected, change. LSDP puts a face on these critical factors, strengthening and broadening them. It illuminates the qualities of excellence and consistency in our services and products. It focuses us on how to serve our clients. And it builds an appetite within the individual and the company to improve and broaden the skills we offer.

the regime
Each year, between four and six seminars are chosen from LSDP’s full curriculum. The seminars, each lasting approximately two hours, are conducted at every office throughout the year. The instructors typically are drawn from within the firm, with an occasional guest lecturer when the subject matter warrants external viewpoints. Participants in the program evaluate each seminar at its conclusion to keep it fresh and relevant.
