overview
We want everyone associated with our projects to have what we call an ‘extraordinary experience’ throughout the life of a project. It is the experience as well as the solution that brings clients back and attracts new ones.
Our “Principles of Project Management” targets current project managers and future ones. This program is as much about developing good, sound judgment capabilities—about thinking—as it is about employing processes and controlling outcomes.
the ‘what’ of project management
With the goal of an ‘extraordinary experience’ in mind, the course is designed to deepen the PM’s understanding of Walter P Moore’s processes and the logic behind them. It provides an economic framework for the astute financial management of a project, along with the necessary skills for planning, monitoring, and controlling projects. And it strengthens the individual’s management capabilities. |
the who
There are pre-qualifiers for participating in this program. Candidates must be a degreed engineer or consultant, have three or more years of professional experience and at least one year with Walter P Moore. They must also exhibit their intent to attend and complete every session. And they should be preparing to use their training within three to six months of completing it.
the regime
The time commitment is 27 hours in total. Training is conducted in two, two-day sessions over a six-week period, with each day focusing on a different subject. As with our other development programs, participants are asked to evaluate the course to ensure its continuous improvement. Best Practices follow-up sessions are held to further evaluate the program. Management then monitors overall performance by the participating PMs on a monthly basis. |
