When Arrowhead Stadium, home to the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs, opened in 1972 at a cost of $43 million, it ushered in a new era of purpose-built sporting venues. Together with Kauffman Stadium, it comprised the Truman Sports Complex. Both were hailed as innovative for a number of reasons, including great sightlines, elegant architecture, and their position as game day sports destinations. More than 35 years later, Arrowhead Stadium is in the midst of a $375 million facelift and expansion intended to enhance the game day fan experience and restore its position as a premier sporting venue in North America..."
