HOUSTON, TX – WALTER P MOORE has won an Award of Merit in the “Parking Structures” category of the 2006 Post-Tensioning Institute Awards Competition for its role in the design of the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport Terminal D Parking Garage.

Completed in July 2005, the 3.1 million sq ft Terminal D Garage provides over 8,000 parking spaces and can claim a spot as one of the ten largest parking garages in North America. The 5,000 psi cast-in-place concrete, post-tensioned beam and slab structure rises eight levels above ground. At a total cost of $139 million, the garage used 1,926 tons of post-tensioning, totaling $3.3 million.
