UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX STADIUM WINS
2007 ENGINEERING EXCELLENCE AWARD
(Sets New Standard for Innovation)

June 5, 2007

HOUSTON, TX – The American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) has announced that WALTER P MOORE is the National Winner ($75 Million & Greater category) of its 2007 IDEAS2 Awards for the University of Phoenix Stadium.

The IDEAS2 (Innovative Design and Excellence in Architecture with Structural Steel) Awards program recognizes those designs where structural steel forms a prominent architectural feature of a building, either as an interior or exterior application.

WALTER P MOORE provided structural engineering services for the $425-million University of Phoenix Stadium, new home of the Arizona Cardinals and the Fiesta Bowl. Appearing from the exterior as a shimmering metallic presence on the desert landscape, the stadium leverages two unique structural systems – a 500,000 sf retractable roof and the first U.S. operable playing field – to set the standard for a modern multipurpose facility.

A national engineering and consulting firm, WALTER P MOORE creates solutions that help clients turn their ideas into structures and infrastructures that work. WALTER P MOORE is consistently recognized for great client service, engineering excellence and as a “best place to work.” In 2006, the firm celebrated its 75th anniversary.

AISC is a non profit trade association and technical institute established in 1921 to serve the structural steel industry in the U.S.
