Auburn University Recreation and Wellness Center

Auburn
Alabama

Auburn University’s state-of-the-art Recreation and Wellness Center was designed around the campus’ “healthy buildings, healthy bodies” concept and is a virtual backyard for students on campus with quick access from The Village, Quad, South Donahue, Hill and other residence halls. A few of the center’s amenities include a multipurpose court, racquetball courts, dual 50-foot rock-climbing towers, aquatic facilities, fitness rooms, and a 1/3-mile elevated indoor running track that winds throughout the center.

The building’s structure is a combination of several different floor framing systems which support the various functions of the facility, the building’s facade, and the long-span roof framing which was designed to provide column-free spaces in all areas of the building.
