Integrated Solutions
for the KC Fed

Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City
Kansas City, Missouri

With completion scheduled for 2008, this 14-story, $175-million headquarters will evoke the Federal Reserve's stability, dignity and civic responsibility and will enhance the Kansas City skyline. Our physical security expertise is integrated with that of our structural design on this project.

The building's operation base/office tower totals 618,000 square feet, including the cash operations and the data center. Functional areas include the lobby and educational exhibits, a conference center, training rooms and employee amenities.

Secure design features for this large and complex facility include blast resistance and protection from progressive collapse, ramming, ballistics and forced entry. The cladding and tower window systems are blast resistant. Blast and ballistic protection that meets the Bankís extensive secure design requirements has been incorporated into the extensive lobby curtain-wall system.

Our conceptual development includes site perimeter security structures and a series of analyses and recommendations for glazing and building cladding and for envelope and internal partitions.
