GSA’s BIM Pilot Program and LEED Registered

U.S. Federal Courthouse
Jackson, Mississippi

This new $92.4-million, 425,000-square-foot facility was part of the GSA’s pilot program for use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology by the entire design team and general contractor.

All major disciplines used BIM and participated in a coordination process for design review and clash detection, which resulted in improved design coordination and estimation of material quantities.

The building will consist of eight levels and will include 68 secure parking spaces. It will provide six district courtrooms, three magistrate courtrooms, three bankruptcy courtrooms and 14 chambers (district, magistrate, bankruptcy and court of appeals).
