A Great Place to Heal

Children's Hospital Central California
Madera, California

This important project expands the 13th-largest freestanding children's hospital in the nation through a two-story addition and renovations of the existing hospital.

Children's Hospital Central California sits on a 50-acre campus on the bluffs of the San Joaquin River, just north of the city of Fresno.

The $40-million, 113,760-square-foot addition and the renovation work include support space for Dietary and Stores on the ground floor, ED, Imaging and new patient beds on the first floor and surgery, Pre-Op, PICU and NICU on the second floor.

Other additions include two new helipads on the roof, an icon structure and a canopy. All of our expansion and renovation design included careful attention to the lateral bracing systems required to resist significant seismic loads.
