Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is one of the top ranked children’s hospitals in the nation, and has won accolades from Child Magazine, U.S. News & World Report and Fortune Magazine.

Our structural solutions for the 731,000-square-foot expansion of the Children's facilities overcame tight site constraints and the challenges of construction on a site surrounded by existing buildings.

The five-story hospital addition is constructed above a new, four-story, 800-space below-grade parking structure, and is designed to accommodate a future vertical expansion. Because a traditional retaining wall system was not possible, we worked with the contractor to devise a permanent earth retention system that was built from the "top-down."

In addition to the hospital expansion, we designed a $50-million renovation of the existing hospital facilities, including a new six-story connector structure that joins the facilities.
