Downtown freeway management
US 54 Freeway Management System
El Paso, Texas
We designed this large, complex, engineering-intensive freeway management system for a major roadway in El Paso.
Our design includes the installation and integration of closed circuit television cameras, dynamic message signs, microwave vehicle detection, SONET communications, underground vaults and integration into the TransVista traffic operations center.
We also developed a transition plan that ensured the existing freeway management system was 100 percent operable during construction and switch-over to the new system. We provided extensive close coordination with roadway designer and the Texas Department of Transportation.
