IH 10 Incident Management Plan
El Paso, Texas

We are now developing an integrated software control system for automated incident management that gives the El Paso District of TxDOT a sophisticated Incident Management Plan (IMP) at a level never before seen in Texas.

The IMP will include a Web-based software control system consisting of GUI/interactive map, database development, integration with TxDOT ATMS and center-to-center features.

The El Paso IMP was developed with the unprecedented cooperation of multiple city and county of El Paso agencies, It defined roles, responsibilities and standard operating guidelines based on specific incident severity. TxDOT wanted the IMP to be a cooperative, engineer-led effort. The result formalized numerous good engineering and non-engineering practices and provided a ready-to-use plan for incident response and management.

The project traffic management team has a long history of cooperation in improving mobility and providing a safer environment for both first responders and the traveling public.
