Master Drainage Plan for Various Watersheds

Missouri City

Multiple watersheds within the city limits of Missouri City were researched, analyzed, updated, and designed by Walter P Moore in an effort to provide flood control measures for the city, and to offset increased runoff for new development. The watersheds included Cangelosi Ditch, Blue Ridge, Mustang Bayou, Northeast Oyster Creek, and Lower Oyster Creek. To avoid having multiple detention facilities throughout the watershed, Missouri City wanted to provide a regional detention facility and mitigate ultimate channel improvements and bring the 1% AEP (100-year) floodplain within the channel banks. The master plans were coordinated with surrounding communities including Fort Bend County, Harris County, and Harris County Flood Control District, all which receive outflow from Missouri City.
