LAYING THE GROUNDWORK
FOR A MARKETPLACE

El Dorado Marketplace
Houston, Texas

We solved numerous challenges in managing the preliminary and final design of public utilities, pavement and drainage improvements for public infrastructure to serve this 70-acre commercial development in southeast Houston.

We worked directly for the private developer of El Dorado Marketplace providing engineering and construction administration services. These included the design of water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer lines, the outfall channel, the abandonment and relocation of a TxDOT drainage channel and easement to an underground box culvert drainage system and drainage channel improvements. We were also responsible for the 1,100-foot extension of El Dorado Boulevard, design of which required coordination with TxDOT to abandon existing rights-of-way and dedicate new ones.

Our solutions involved multiple existing owners, TxDOT permitting issues, City of Houston water rate analysis, wastewater capacity and water impact fee issues, sanitary sewer services, storm sewer design, detention analysis and initial design, drainage issues and private utility coordination issues.
