24-HOUR ACCESS REQUIRED IN MEDICAL CENTER AREA

Fannin Street Reconstruction,
Calumet to South Braeswood
Houston, Texas

We provided civil and traffic engineering services for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of over two miles of urban thoroughfare through Houston's Hermann Park, medical center and museum district areas.

The project included the replacement of a 24-inch water main, 24-inch sanitary sewer and a relief storm sewer. The maintenance of traffic flow during construction and the construction sequencing was a challenge for this 30,000-vehicle-per-day roadway, located in the heart of the medical center area.

During the design of this project, Fannin Street was selected as a route for future light rail transit. We were asked to redesign the corridor for future development.

The construction cost was approximately $4 million.
