TIMELY IMPROVEMENTS
FOR BETTER DRAINAGE

James A. Reed Road
Kansas City, Missouri

Our expertise in street reconstruction helped the City of Kansas City meet its objectives for the planned improvements to James A. Reed Road from 89th Street to the city limits.

A lack of slope in the roadway caused localized flooding, particularly during frequent storm events. We improved stormwater drainage by adjusting the vertical alignment of the street to create positive drainage and by installing a storm sewer system.

Approximately 760 feet of James A. Reed Road was reconstructed with a street 44 feet wide. The remaining portion of the road will be widened between 2 feet to 9 feet, providing correct roadway alignment and width.

The improvements accomplished the city’s two major objectives: improve the street to current standards and improved stormwater drainage.
