KEeping residents informed

Overland Park Residential street programs
Overland Park, Kansas

The City of Overland Park's infrastructure is improving with our designs and innovative communication efforts on its $1.3-million Community Development Block Grant project.

We designed new asphalt roadways with concrete curbs and gutters, a new storm sewer system, new residential and commercial driveways, new sidewalks and street lighting.

Several innovative aspects kept residents informed and allowed them to play a role in the street design. The project manager visited all affected neighborhoods, talking to residents he met and leaving the ”Resident’s Survival Kit” at all homes. The kit included contact information, a self-addressed stamped envelope so residents could provide feedback and a list of frequently asked questions. A Web site was also created to allow residents access to up-to-date project information.
