Biomedical Research in a State-of-the-Art Facility

Scripps Florida
North Palm Beach County, Florida

Scripps Florida is an expansion of The Scripps Research Institute, the world’'s largest, private non-profit biomedical research facility that is located in La Jolla, California.

Scripps Florida will focus on basic biomedical science, drug discovery and technology development. Start-up costs are supported by a $310 million appropriation of federal funds by the State of Florida, as well as support from Palm Beach County.

The new biomedical research institute will be located on 100 acres in Jupiter, Florida on the Florida Atlantic University campus. The 364,000-square-foot complex will feature three state-of-the-art buildings designed by two different architects, ranging from three to four stories. A vivarium is included in one of the buildings.

We designed the cast-in-place structures to minimize floor vibrations in order to accommodate sensitive laboratory equipment.
