Innovative Roof on a
First Class Venue

Our collaboration with the design team resulted in a first-class venue that sets a standard in spectator comfort. The 20,000-seat Toyota Center is home to the two-time NBA champion Houston Rockets and the four time WNBA champion Comets.

Fans are treated to a more intimate setting in a large lower bowl that allows them to be closer to the floor. The elliptical roof is supported by unique x-trusses that span 390 feet between four supercolumns. The placement of the steel supercolumns in from the edges of the roof reduced the main truss spans by 50 feet, which accounted for a substantial savings in construction costs without compromising patron sightlines.

The x-trusses also enabled speed in erection and helped the fast-track project be delivered on time and in budget, with construction completion in just over two years.

The facility also offers state-of-the-art amenities for concerts, indoor soccer, and meets all NHL hockey requirements.
