post-tension structure

We determined the cause of concrete blow-outs and cracking that occurred during construction of a parking garage as a result of a sudden release of tensile force from post-tensioned tendons.
Our team of engineers conducted site visits to document the extent of damage and developed testing protocols that included a comprehensive non-destructive assessment of each post-tensioned tendon using ground penetrating radar to determine the in-situ profile of each tendon.
Our assessment revealed that various post-tensioned tendons were installed with an incorrect profile and insufficient amount of confinement reinforcement that created vulnerable conditions in the facility. We developed repair solutions for a specialty contractor to implement.
