With 956 spaces, the new $14-million University of Kansas Medical Center parking garage will serve surrounding campus buildings from its location near the intersection of two large bluffs.

We performed a traffic impact study to determine the effect of the construction of the garage on the adjacent roadways and recommended improved access from the adjacent roadways considering efficient and safe traffic movements. Our analyses were in compliance with the City of Kansas City requirements.

Our civil services for the garage included design for the relocation of the public storm and sanitary sewer mains. Both the public storm and sanitary sewer mains pass through a bluff; therefore the lines are as much as 45 feet deep. In addition, we also designed the private storm sewer system, sanitary sewer service, domestic water service (for flush hydrants) and fire protection line.
