HELPING HOSPITAL PERSONNEL GET AROUND TOWN
Texas Children's Hospital Transit Study
Houston, Texas
With several sites in the Texas Medical Center area and expansions and relocations being planned, Texas Childrenís Hospital (TCH) needed a plan for personnel to easily and quickly arrive at their destination.
We evaluate existing transit service and planned for revisions that would accommodate movement of hospital employees in the expansion projects and relocation of some hospital functions.
We determined transit routing and fleet needs based on proposed employment increases and relocations within the area. We reviewed the interface between TCH transit services and those provided by the Texas Medical Center and METRO. We also provided assistance to TCH in determining whether to continue to contract transit services or to provide this service with in-house forces.
