Providing numerous traffic engineering options for the uptown transit line has helped METRO give Houstonians another transportation option.
We compared various options using simulations based on different operating scenarios and developed construction phasing to allow acceptable street operation during construction. The Uptown transit system connects a proposed transit center south of US 59 through the Uptown/Galleria area to the Northwest Transit Center, a distance of 4.3 miles. The line will extend an additional 1.1 miles to the Northwest Mall.
