BIGGER BOOM
Brookside Road Underpass
Ellis County, TX
Waxahachie, Texas is 25 miles south of Dallas and 35 miles southeast of Fort Worth. The Metroplex is booming and so is this historic community that finds itself caught up in the growth and thinking about its future.
Running east-west, Brookside Road passes under IH35E connecting to Main Street and Waxahachie's town center. Designated by city planners for significant roadway improvements, it is expected to play a major role in Waxahachie's transformation from the once sleepy country town of its past to an important satellite community of the Metroplex—an expansion well underway.
Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) hired us to provide transportation engineering for the Brookside Road Underpass at IH 35E. Our services encompassed both roadway and bridge design, retaining wall design, and drainage systems design. We were also responsible for the traffic control planning and construction sequencing and for managing an independent surveying contract. Our team worked closely with city officials to ensure that our design was compatible with their future plans.
