Seven miles of double track light rail connects the landmark Reliant Park to Downtown Houston. Our civil and traffic engineering services for this METRORail project helped lay the groundwork.

Our traffic engineering services included traffic analysis and impact studies, alternative route evaluations, cost estimates and constructability assessments. We analyzed intersections within the corridor for existing and future conditions using VISSIM and Synchro We were also responsible for preliminary engineering for traffic engineering and transportation elements of METRORail.

In the Final Engineering phase of this project, we provided conceptual designs, capacity and level-of-service analyses, bus operating plans, signing and pavement marking plans and plans for transit flow during construction.

Construction was completed in 2004 at a cost of approximately $325 million.
