NORTH AND SOUTH GROVE CREEK AT IH35 EAST

Walter P Moore performed hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for the mainlane and frontage road bridges along IH 35E over North Grove and South Grove creeks. The project required coordination with the Federal Emergency Management Agency as it crossed a FEMA-designated flood plain.
We performed a hydraulic analysis to comply with TxDOT design criteria using a hydrologic model developed using HEC-HMS and GIS data. Hydraulic analyses for the bridge were performed using HEC-RAS and met both TxDOT and FEMA standards. A new floodplain map was produced from the proposed conditions that included ultimate development of the watershed.
