UPGRADING INFRASTRUCTURE TO STANDARDS

Hirsch Road Improvements, Phase I and II

Walter P Moore provided design for improvements to complete and widen Hirsch Road, from Liberty Drive to Kelley Street, to upgrade it to City of Houston standards and to enhance mobility in the area.

We prepared a computer model of Hunting Bayou using the HEC-II program to determine the effects of the Hirsch Road Bridges on Hunting Bayou, set low chord elevations, and design channel improvements to Hunting Bayou at the bridges. These bridges conform to AASHTO requirements.

The project also included management of the right-of-way acquisition map, including survey abstract and appraisals, sidewalks, street lighting, and design of 10,600 linear feet of 24-inch to 120-inch diameter storm sewers.
