Warehouse Partial Roof Collapse

Lewisville
Texas

During a severe thunderstorm with strong winds and very heavy rain, the roof of the Waters Ridge warehouse facility partially collapsed. The affected area of the collapse was approximately 47,000 square feet located on the southwest side of the facility and represents about 7 percent of the total area of the building. The existing site and structural conditions were evaluated to determine the cause of the roof failure, considering both the physical evidence present on-site after the collapse, as well as the structural and material behavior of the building framing and components. After the initial site visit, Walter P Moore recommended the installation of temporary bracing in the interior to reduce the vulnerability of the damaged structure against high-wind events. We also assisted the client throughout the repair process and provided litigation support.
