Building Information Modeling

Engineering and Collaborating, Virtually

Walter P Moore is a recognized industry leader in the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools to improve project delivery.  Among the advantages of using BIM technologies are enhanced design team collaboration, better coordinated construction documents, fewer Requests for Information and other coordination problems in the field, and better understanding of construction sequencing and schedules.

We use BIM platforms on all major structural engineering projects, with REVIT Structure our BIM platform of choice.  Our civil design staff have begun using Civil 3D on projects.  On projects where the team members use 3D models, our Navisworks-based coordination services centrally manages the geometry information in the individual models. This approach aids interference detection and change control, and provides inter-discipline 3D coordination of structural and civil work, among other benefits.

We work with AutoDesk and other BIM platform suppliers to refine the software, help them develop an effective training program, and in leading the overall industry exploration and adoption of BIM technologies. We can provide advisory services to project teams seeking to execute using BIM in numerous areas.

Our BIM portfolio includes The Palazzo Resort, Hotel and Casino and McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, Signature Tower (Nashville), San Antonio Military Medical Center, University of Florida BioMedical Sciences Building (Gainesville), University of Texas Health Science Center Research Park Complex and Satterfield & Pontikes corporate headquarters in Houston, and the two projects highlighted below in the case studies.
