Senior Associate

Christina Hughes is an integral member of Walter P Moore’s Water Resources team. She has contributed to multiple white papers and was instrumental in the firm’s flood response to Hurricane Harvey. She is passionate about sustainable design and is a firm expert in green infrastructure and low impact design.

Christina has been the recipient of two Challenge Awards, one for her Zero-Waste Fast Start program and the other for Hurricane Harvey Response & Relief. She is a member of the Knowledge Management Steering Committee, Green Team, and Civil Visioning Team. Additionally, Hughes serves on the board of the White Oak Bayou Association whose mission is to protect the Bayou and one day restore it to its natural state. Professional affiliations include ASCE/EWRI, ASFPM, TFMA, ISI, and SWE.

How does what you do make a difference in the world?
Civil engineering has a huge impact on the world by making everyone’s daily lives easier, safer, and run more efficiently through the design and construction of infrastructure works.
What is something most people don't know about you?
I graduated high school in Hong Kong and can speak some Cantonese.
If you had to choose a different career, what would it be?
If I had had any dance or singing talent, I would likely have seriously considered a career in dance or theater.
