Eric is a Principal and Design Manager in Walter P Moore's Houston Structural Group.  With a decade of experience in structural engineering and a lifelong passion for emerging technology, he leads initiatives across the firm that leverage computer programming to knock down hurdles in the design process. He supports project teams by providing skills training to staff, crafting more efficient data workflows, and developing first-class in-house software. 

In addition, Eric has demonstrated expertise in various markets including healthcare, higher education, and mixed-use commercial. He takes delight in creating elegant tools that buzz through the profession’s most tedious tasks. He has a spreadsheet for everything, prefers taking on complicated problems, and will always generate a picture to explain the solution.

Why did you choose Walter P Moore?
I was inspired by the collaborative culture and technical expertise I encountered throughout that summer, and to date I haven’t found anything quite like it anywhere else.
If you had to choose a different career, what would it be?
A ranger in the National Park Service. I love Earth sciences, I even minored in geology in college, and I love helping people understand our planet. I feel like I could hike on forever in some of the great parks out west.
What hobbies or activities do you enjoy outside of work?
I enjoy photography, camping, craft beer, and exploring Michigan with my family.
