Melissa is a Project Manager at Walter P Moore's Tampa Construction Engineering Group, with a decade of experience in structural engineering. She specializes in the design and detailing of steel connections as well as specialty engineering structures such as stairs, handrails, and canopies. Melissa also develops steel erection procedures and temporary works. Her background includes designing with a multitude of different structural materials such as pre-stressed concrete, steel, cold-formed steel, reinforced masonry, and timber.

In addition, Melissa has expertise in various market sectors including aviation, commercial, education, entertainment, healthcare, industrial, mixed-use and retail, and sports. She is instrumental in the design and development of building and specialty structures. One of her passions is collaborating with members of the Structures group and Enclosures Engineering group to supply creative solutions for complex projects and provides a unique focus on constructability and ease of fabrication. She works closely with contractors, detailers, architects, and manufacturers to ensure the structures' details are well coordinated which helps ensure a smooth erection process.

I would open a cut flower farm where I'd grow all types of flowers during different seasons.
What hobbies or activities do you enjoy outside of work?
I'm a true Florida girl, I love going to the beach with my family. I also enjoy playing golf, bike riding, fishing, and gardening on my free time.
