Caterpillar Regional Training Facility

Walter P Moore provided structural engineering design and documentation services in a design-assist arrangement with Schuff Steel (USA) for this four building 20,000 SM complex located near the entrance to the Panama Canal.  The facility showcases Caterpillar products and provides regional access to Cat products for clients and distributors throughout Latin America. The complex includes a demonstration & learning facility, a service and call center, and a logistic and distribution hub.  Walter P Moore’s deliverable comprised a full steel delivery package including all structural steel design, detailing, and connections design drawings.  Walter P Moore also worked closely with Schuff Steel in reviewing TEKLA model to avoid clashes and review of connections to speed up the delivery of steel for the project to meet an aggressive schedule.
