Walter P Moore is providing secure design, enclosure engineering, and non-structural seismic services for a 479,160 SF Overseas Building Operations New Office Annex (NOX). The NOX is designed for the Embassy’s property in the Bangkok’s Pathum Wan district, replacing a smaller office building that functioned until the mid 1990’s. Physical security services include performing dynamic analysis of architectural and structural systems, such as exterior blast resistant and blast resistant/forced entry and ballistic resistant (FEBR) windows, as well as exterior wall and roof structure subject to air-blast loading. Walter P Moore’s team worked closely with the project structural engineer and architect to integrate results into a practical and constructible design. The facility is expected to be complete in 2025.
