Earning the distinction of U.S. News & World Report’s list of its “10 Medical Schools with the Lowest Acceptance Rate,” completed in 2006, the Florida State University College of Medicine features state-of-the-art classrooms, teaching labs, an auditorium, and support spaces. The design blends academic instructional spaces and scientific research seamlessly. The traditional exterior appearance mimics the design of the rest of the campus, while the laboratories are sophisticated and high-tech. The research laboratories include imaging research, molecular biology, biochemistry, tissue culture labs, and computation labs.

The building is located on the northwest corner of the campus and is the prominent architectural gateway to the campus.
