FM 2275 Roadway and Bridge Improvements
The FM 2275 roadway will be expanded from a two-lane roadway to four lanes with a flush median and a shared-use path from FM 3272 (North White Oak Road) to FM 1845 (Pine Tree Road). The bridge at Hawkins Creek will be replaced in phases to accommodate the widened roadway and shared-use path.
Walter P Moore is providing roadway and bridge design, as well as project management. The project includes three different types of retaining walls, temporary special shoring, hydraulics, and drainage design.
The project has required special consideration of the many stakeholders along the route including multiple tie-ins and connection points. Walter P Moore’s design process included developing options for cost savings such as grading alternatives to retaining walls and considering adding to the number of beams in the bridge to reduce the number of foundations.
