Georgia Judicial Complex Building Enclosure Commissioning

Atlanta
Georgia

The State of Georgia’s new Judicial Complex will accommodate the State Supreme Court and Court of Appeals. The 6-story courthouse building includes second and sixth floor waterproofed terrace decks. The cladding systems include architectural precast panels, precast panels with thin granite overlay, EIFS, and curtain wall. Roofing systems include SBS modified bitumen membrane and standing seam metal roof panels.

Commissioning is required for this State project per the Georgia Peach Green Building Rating System under the Georgia Peach Program. Walter P Moore was brought onto the project to provide Building Enclosure Commissioning (BECx). Our BECx process included design and construction review of roofing, waterproofing, air barrier, vapor retarder, thermal insulation and detailing at enclosure system transitions. Walter P Moore also witnessed field performance testing of installed fenestration systems at various stages during construction. The project was completed in late 2019. Our BECx process also includes a post-occupancy site visit.
