Georgia Tech U.A. Whitaker Biomedical Engineering Building

Walter P Moore provided structural engineering services as part of a Design/Build team for this facility on the campus of Georgia Tech, in Midtown Atlanta. The building is home to the Coulter Department and provides research laboratories, classrooms and administrative offices.

The four-story, brick clad building utilizes a flat-slab, reinforced concrete floor system that minimizes the building’s height and provides strength for high laboratory live loads. The BME building is the third of four planned buildings that constitue the Engineering Sciences complex in the heart of the Tech campus.
