Hullabaloo Residence Third-Party Enclosure Design Review
Hullabaloo Residence Third-Party Enclosure Design Review
Walter P Moore provided design review, construction observation, and testing coordination for the construction of the building enclosure system of the new Hullabaloo (originally named Northside) Residence Hall on the main Texas A&M University campus. Our involvement during the design and construction phase identified several issues that were resolved in coordination with the design team and the owner. Our services were structured to follow the general procedures of NIBS Guideline 3-2012 Building Enclosure Commissioning Process BECx.
Walter P Moore reviewed the design team submissions at the major design milestones, and provided recommendations for building envelope related details and specifications. We worked with the general contractor and design team to review submittals and develop detail modifications during construction. Frequent visits to the project site during the early stages of construction focused on all aspects of the building envelope construction, including structural elements and material compatibility. Walter P Moore engaged a testing consultant to provide air and water infiltration testing on completed assemblies to verify compliance with project specifications.
