Walter P Moore provided the bridge design for Holzwarth Bridge located in the Springwoods Village development in Spring, Texas. Holzwarth Bridge is a series of three prestressed concrete U-beam bridges on Holzwarth Road. These structures function as a grade separation for UPRR and an overpass for the Grand Parkway (SH 99) mainlanes, as well as crossing underneath Centerpoint Energy aerial power lines. Crossing these easements required close coordination with UPRR, Centerpoint Energy, TxDOT, and the Grand Parkway design-build team.

The aesthetics required collaboration with the developers in order to achieve their vision for this overpass and familiarity with the aesthetic requirements for Grand Parkway. Walter P Moore’s recommendation for the final design was based on a $2.5 million in cost savings and increased speed of construction, satisfying the owner’s requirement that the bridge be constructed within the first quarter of 2014.
