Walter P Moore provided structural engineering services for the new $15 million sanctuary which seats 1,500 people. The facility was constructed in classical renaissance style architecture. The design included coordinating cast stone column covers as well as state-of-the-art fiber glass molding to replicate ornate renaissance stone work.
We also provided structural design for two Reconciliation Chapels (one located on the north and the other located on the south elevation of the building) and a Portico structure to be located on the east elevation of the building. The chapels were designed with a basement level and one story above grade with a generally flat roof. The East Portico required the extension of the sanctuary floor and the addition of four architectural column covers.
