Torre V Structural Evaluation and Waterproofing Consulting

Walter P Moore was contracted to perform an evaluation of the North-West stair core structure located in the parking levels of Torre V, Business Park. Torre V is 13 year-old, 24-story steel framed tower with five levels of parking.

Walter P Moore conducted a visual review of the stair core structure and a nondestructive evaluation to determine the level of corrosion of this structure. A careful structural assessment of the stair core structure was performed, including a waterproofing evaluation. We found out that the deterioration of the stair core structure was due to the high level of humidity in the area since it is located close to the bay of Panama City, causing corrosion to the steel members.

After evaluating the results, Walter P Moore developed recommendations and prepared construction documents to repair and waterproof the structure.
