University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center West Campus

Dallas

The old St. Paul University Hospital and Energy Thermal Plant will be demolished to make room for the new West Campus. Phase I of West Campus includes an Academic/Clinical Building and a garage. The West Campus reflects UT Southwestern’s strategic goals to stay forefront of the rapidly changing healthcare landscape. Walter P Moore is providing civil and structural engineering services for the Academic/clinical Building and Garage.

At 11 stories, half of the new 300,000 square feet Academic/Clinical Building will be used for academic and educational space, the remainder will be for the expansion of the UT Southwestern Health System ambulatory clinics. The new ambulatory clinics space will allow a significant number of outpatient services to be consolidated. A 850- space garage will be included to improve faculty, visitor, and patient access. The consolidation of outpatient services and increase in parking spaces will help improve patients experience at UT Southwestern.
