Xavier University Convocation Center

New Orleans

Located on Xavier University’s West Campus and linked to the main campus via a pedestrian bridge, the convocation center is capable of hosting a variety of events including basketball and volleyball competitions, speaking engagements, musical performances, and convocation ceremonies. The new building replaced The Barn, XULA’s historic gymnasium which opened in 1937 and was damaged during Hurricane Katrina.

The 3,937-seat facility is recognized as one of the finest collegiate facilities of its size. The Convocation Center includes a hospitality suite, a student-athlete fitness center, a media/video room, a theater-style meeting space, and a state-of-the-art athletic training facility. The arena contains state-of-the-art sound, lighting and high-definition video boards for spectator comfort.
