México has been hit with several major earthquakes this month: first an 8.1 magnitude quake that struck September 8 off the southern Pacific coast, near Chiapas state; second, last week’s 7.1 magnitude trembler that struck México City; and over the weekend, two more quakes that shook southern México registering magnitudes of 6.1 and 4.5 in Oaxaca state near Matias Romero, a town about 275 miles southeast of México City.
