Graduate Engineer - Traffic

Responsibilities

In this position, the entry-level engineer will work with a team of engineers and technicians designing and producing a variety of traffic engineering projects. The responsibilities will include: 

  • Creates detailed traffic operations analysis models using micro-simulation software Synchro or VISSIM
  • Calculates trip generation volumes for existing and proposed developments utilizing the Trip Generation Manual, or by applying site-specific rates that they have calculated
  • Generates maps of trends or statistics using ArcGIS
  • Oversees the production of graphics necessary for project reports or presentations
  • Designs traffic elements of roadways, including signage, pavement markings, and traffic signals, based on the Highway Capacity Manual, Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, and local
    agency regulations

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Civil Engineering (transportation emphasis preferred) 
  • EIT required upon employment or within the first 6 months from start 
  • Experience with traffic analysis software, including Synchro, HCS, Arc GIS, VISSIM, TransCad, a plus 
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills

This position has an annual salary range as stated below and is, in good faith, an estimate. The actual offered salary will be dependent on the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, geographic location, industry experience and internal equity.
