Synopsis

Fluor Corporation’s headquarters relocation from Sugar Land, TX to Houston’s Energy Corridor brought a major change in daily commuting: employees shifted from open surface lot parking to a structured garage. This transition introduced unexpected challenges, including navigation difficulties, congestion, and a sense of discomfort in the new environment.

This session will highlight how those challenges were uncovered and addressed through thoughtful design, pedestrian-focused enhancements, and employee-centered solutions. Attendees will gain insights into how improvements such as wayfinding systems, upgraded lighting, enhanced safety measures, and user experience upgrades transformed the garage from a source of frustration into a valued workplace amenity.
